Wardrobe essentials: The White Kurta and a LOTD

One of my very first posts was on wardrobe essentials for the IndianWoman. (Click here to read it). I thought I'd show you how I styled it for a day out.
So on Sunday I had two occasions - a mini reunion with my school friends. Actually it was to say bye and wish good luck to one of our friends who was moving to Chennai for further studies. The other occasion was my nephew's birthday.

Now the reunion was at this very cute comic book cafe, and I wanted to go for simplicity with some colour, for that element of fun.
So I took the basic white kurta, a pair of three fourths black leggings and a bright stole, for that pop of colour. I matched my accessories to the stole.
Then I looked at myself and thought, hey this is perfect for the evening as well. I mean elegant since I am an aunt, and also fun for a party.

Since I had all the colour I wanted in the outfit, I kept the makeup simple and with basic neutral colours like brown. A pretty monochrome look. (I got compliments for the eye makeup wand my friends asking me to show them how I did it.)

Here is the outfit.

Here is a breakdown of the outfit

White Kurta: Melange (available at Lifestyle)
Black Leggings: Miss Players (this was the women's line of John Players.)
Orange and Red stole: Gift from a friend.

I dunno why I forgot to smile

Here are the accessories.
Red jumkhas: Jute cottage
Chunky bracelet: Pantaloons.
Red bag: Ginger (from Lifestyle)
Chappals: From Reliance Footprint

Isn't it pretty!!1
