REVIEW: The Body Shop Moringa Body butter

I swear every time I hear the word Moringa, all I think of is the ad for Halls Icy Mint where that man hugs a polar bear and I am pretty sure they say something like "mooooorrrriiinnngggaaaaa". Okay, maybe they don't but that is the image in my head.
Speaking of polar bears and chills, Bangalore was kinda really cold for just two weeks and now, the sun is out again!! Anyway The Body Shop Body Moringa body butter got delivered to me just when it was really cold and dry in Bangalore,

Price: 1095INR

For the price of 1095INR you get 200 ml of product. A simple easy-to-open tub houses this pale yellow cream that smells like a bit of heaven. I like that it is a tub, sure it is a bit messy because I have to dip my fingers in, but I really don't mind that. I use this every day just after my shower and I think it smells simply divine. It is not an overpowering scent, which is one of the reasons I love this so much. I can layer my perfume or body splash over this. I make sure that I use a body splash that has similar undertones.

I am trying to think of words to describe how this smells. It is a hint of musk, wait.. I am actually smelling the tub right now to get a better picture.. Think of the traditional Nivea cream, but slightly milder smelling and with an undertone of musk. The fact that it isn't too floral or girly smelling makes is a very unisex kind of body butter. In fact I think my dad loves this more than I do. The reason it looks so empty in just about a month or less is because my dad has been using it as well. Otherwise The Body Shop Body Butter can last for a couple of months depending on how frequently you use it.

I like to slather this just once a day after my shower and my skin feels very soft and hydrated for about 8 hours after that. The smell doesn't linger for too long and unless you stick your nose to my arm you probably won't smell anything after about 3 hours. Somehow I feel like it lasts longer on my legs and something I can still feel the effect of the body butter the next day.

It is a a thick cream, and so I will definitely not be using this in the summer because it can get a bit sticky in the heat. But for this season, it just what I need to get my day started and going.

What I like about the product:
  • Smells great.
  • Very moisturising
  • Lasts longer than most other creams.

What I don't like about the product:

  • It is definitely pricey
  • Can be used only for a season.

Overall if you are looking for something that defines you without being over powering, this is definitely the body butter to go for.
And if you can find it one sale, like I did, then buy two!! (I stocked up on it already. Check out my The Body Shop haul post to see what else I bought.)

Have you tried the Moringa Body Butter? What's your favourite body butter?
