REVIEW: Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup in 370 Natural Tan

Review by Neha

Hi Everyone!
As a teen, Acne & I waged a war against each other. I won in my early twenties but had to deal with ‘Battle Scars’ - the pits and blemishes they left behind. So when I started experimenting with makeup, I looked out for base products that blurred (if not, covered up!) the blemishes. That search, by the way, is still on….

Recently, I came across the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Crème Makeup in 370 Natural Tan. I’m giving it my ‘Thumbs-up’ & here’s why.

Packaging: The Revlon Whipped Crème Makeup comes in a heavy glass jar with a black lid. Don’t even think of carrying this in your purse like you would, a BB or CC cream! Having said that, you won’t need to. Read on to know why…

Formula: The consistency is like actual ‘whipped double cream’ (see pic) . Thick & creamy, this foundation claims to stay on for 24hrs as mentioned on the lid. Now I don’t know about that because I don’t WANT to be wearing any foundation for that long. I have tried this on for around 9hrs straight and it definitely stayed on without fading. Of course, since I have combination skin, I set it with powder when I wore it, but after that, I didn’t need any touch ups during the day. Now that kind of long staying power, is precisely why you wouldn’t need to carry this around in your purse. YAY for Working gals! No Touch-ups!

Swatches.

Blended

In spite of being a slightly thick foundation, this allows your skin to breathe and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. It has great coverage and you need very little for your entire face. I would definitely recommend blending this with your fingers, rather than a brush. The warmth of your fingers melts the product into the skin & gives a very nice finish. If you have dry skin, then you’d need to moisturize your face before you wear this; blending may get tricky as the product is quite thick. I was surprised to see that it also minimized the look of pores on my T-zone, but I am not sure if it will do that for everybody.

Me likes:
  • Great Coverage
  • Doesn’t feel heavy on the skin
  • Long wear formula
  • Minimizes pores

Me NO likes:
  • Heavy glass packaging L
  • Price: Rs.950/- (Yes, I’m ‘Kanjoos’ that way!)

If you’re looking for a long-wear foundation for weddings & special occasions, which gives you good coverage, I’d say definitely give this a try!!

Editor's Note- We met up for a makeup swap and I gave this foundation to Neha and I am so so glad it is working for her, I just could not make it work for me. I think it looks amazing on her. The colour is a great match and it looks flawlessly blended.
