The Basil in Pink from SaND

The title sounds like it could be a Castle episode title na. (If you aren't a fan of Castle, please don't talk to me ever again). Kate Beckett, *sigh* now that is a woman who is totally worthy of being a role mode. Oh! This reminds me that I should totally do a Kate Beckett inspired makeup look. What do you say? Okay well clearly I am far far away from the actual topic of discussion today.

It is about the Pink Basil Hand and Body Cream from SaND for Soapaholics. The brand name itself gets you all intrigued, like Why SaND? Are the products made from silica (chemical formula of sand. Yes yes. I know. I am such a nerd!), or are the products like sand? Is is only soaps and for people who like soaps? What could possibly be great about soap?

Anyway the point is SaND for Soapaholics has had a store in Forum Mall, Bangalore for quite a while now and I have passed by it so so many times, always making a mental note to stop at it the next time, only to forget every time. Well finally they sent me a product for review, thereby removing the necessity for my forgetful brain to remind me to check out the store. (The entire floor smells great because of this one store and its products)

The packaging is pretty minimalistic. I mean a regular plastic tub in a sand colour (thereby sticking to brand theme). The name of the brand is seen in bold letters on the top and the name product is underneath on a sticker that gets faded with use. I also got a sample of a SaND facescrub in one of my Fabbags and let me tell you, the packaging was exactly the same. So if you have multiple tubs of different products from this brand, you will have problems in differentiating between them. I think their packaging could use an upgrade atleast do that distinguishing products is made easy and you don't end up using a face scrub as moisturiser.
The sticker at the bottom also mentions the price and the weight. The Pink Basil Hand and Body Cream costs 250INR for 50gm.

In all honesty I am a not a huge fan of how this smells. It has a very Lactocalamine meets basil meets rose kind of fragrance. It does not linger for long and when applied on the skin it is not overwhelming. I think the smell is the strongest when you smell it directly from the tube. (I know you must be wondering why I would stick my nose in the tube but come on, we all do it okay!)

The product has a very slight pink tinge to it (It is PINK basil, like duh!). It feels like I am spreading Lactocalamine on my hands and arms, but a more moisturizing version of Lactocalamine. I can't really rave about how amazingly hydrating it is, but it does the job. It lasts for  a decent 4-5 hours.

Overall I am not the hugest fan of this product, but definitely eager to look at some of the other products they offer.
