Navrathri Day 4: The Green Agate Necklace

Once in a while you come across a piece that leaves you searching for words to describe it. This is what happened to me when I saw this stunning beauty from Hasta Kaushalam. This set was a gift from my father for no particular reason. He saw it, he liked it and he bought it. My daddy is the bestest right?

Green mossy coloured stones with highlights of purple, blue and red running across. When the sunlight catches the stones it reflects these beautiful colours. The agate stones are interwoven with small oxidised metal beads. An intricately carved oxidised metal pendant lies in the centre. Don't get thrown off by the size of the centre pendant, it is what balances the chain. Yes it does look heavy, and it not for the faint hearted. You have to have the confidence to carry this piece. You need to own it. When you walk into a meeting this statement necklace on, every guy in the room will know who the boss is.

I love the luxurious feel of this green agate necklace. The hook is pretty interesting and not your run-of-the-mill hook mechanism, The earrings are small purple stones that play off the colours of the necklace.

I chose to accessorise this pretty bauble with a green sari. Yes I accessorised the chain with the sari and not vice versa. Initially I thought that the whole look may be too busy, but when I tried it on, I was amazed at how well it complemented it. I guess my eye for styling has improved.
