Bangalore winters= Sweater weather.
I hate the cold but I love Sweaters. I think I love sweaters because I hate the cold. Think about it. Sweaters keep you warm and keep out the cold.
After the huge success of the first post on men's fashion, we thought it would be a great idea to do a small lookbook.
Here we have two looks put together from John's Players Autumn/Winter Collection.
Look 1: Printed Shirts for Friday
Printed shirts are really the in thing now. When I was in Singapore I saw a lot of men wearing printed shirts and I really loved the idea. John Players has an entire line with prints inspired by playing cards and this range is called Jack of Hearts.
Here we've styled basic blue jeans, with a white shirt. The shirt has small black dots and the settings symbol. It is not quirky like moustaches or the likes, and would look great on a guy who has never worn prints before. This would work really well for Friday work wear.
For the cooler evenings, we threw on a black sweater with orange triangles across the chest. Folding the shirt sleeves over the sweaters brings out the contrast. Just imagine walking down MG promenade with your man wearing this, ladies. Now doesn't that sound cosy?
This line of sweaters combines vibrant colours with neutrals and is called Playlist.
Look 2: Retro macho.
We really loved the jackets collection at John Players-. There are both sleeveless and the full sleeve ones. However none of the shirts seemed to work with this tan bomber jacket that we chose. So we decided to pair it with a blue sweater that had black stripes. The entire look is kept neutral with a dark blue black jeans and brown boots completing the look. This way the jacket just stands out. The sweater is light enough to work as a layer under the jacket. Of course if jackets aren't your thing, you could add a scarf instead.
With the Ray Ban Aviators and the jackets there was an added element of retro meets macho.
I think if you walk out with your man looking like this, he is surely going to make heads turn. (I know that we saw a bunch of heads turn as we were shooting).
Overall the sweater collection is what we loved the most. Absolutely perfect for this season. They have colours and prints for everyone's style. The formal shirts are good, but not a lot of winter colours. The printed shirts are fun to make winter evenings less dull. The jeans are made of a soft innovative brushed fabric and the line is called Second Skin. They are apparently super comfortable.(This is what Francis told me.)
*sigh* I really wish they would bring back their Miss Players collection. I do miss it.
Do head over to the store to check out the collection but before that tell us which look you liked the best in the comments section below.
