Thyme oil is known for its antiseptic properties and it helps to fight infections such as the common cold. Red thyme is combined with Clove and Clary sage to provide a combination that not only relaxes you but also protects you against infections that are common in winter. Thyme oil is also used in aromatherapy to calm the nerves and strengthen the memory and concentration. Thyme oil is also supposed to be good scalp treatment to reduce hair fall.
The massage is a hot oil massage and I opted for a Swedish stroke (lots of pressure so it penetrates deeper into the tissue). The masseuse really knew where to find my pressure points on the neck and shoulders and I could feel her literally knead out the knots. The oil was kept warm for the duration of the entire session. I think she had it on a small burner. I was too busy relaxing to notice that. The combination of oil has a very faint smell and I found myself wishing it was a bit stronger. I believe that the aroma is definitely a part of the entire relaxing experience. The amount of oil applied was quite generous and my parched skin drank it all up.
I decided to take a steam after the massage. I recommend a steam after a oil massage as it helps the oil penetrate into the skin better. I finished my shower and came out feeling fresh and relaxed and ready to take on the rest of the day. My skin felt much softer, supple and less dry and cracked. The therapy ended with a hot cup of green tea.
This massage is a Winter Special massage and therefore limited edition. Priced at 2399INR for 60 minutes of heaven, Four Fountains Spa is definitely one of the more affordable spas in town. The Warming Red Thyme massage is being offered only till 31st January, 2016 and I think if you haven't relaxed in a while, then you should head over to the nearest Four Fountains De Stress spa (they have multiple branches all over the city) and get a little pampering done.
Let me know when was the last time you got to pamper yourself in the comments section below.
