You know how sometimes you are just bursting with excitement and you have so much to say, but you end up tripping over your words. Well that's what is happening right now. I have so much to say about this facewash, my thoughts are just tumbling out and my fingers are struggling to keep up.
Let me start with the fact that I love how this smells. Slightly citrusy and bitter but not overwhelming at all (I am one of those weirdos who like bitter stuff like neem and bitter gourd). The first time I smelt it I was reminded of the bitter almond odour that I teach my students in class to identify (Ugh! I can be such a nerd) though this doesn't smell are strong as that. It is in fact quite pleasant. The product is orange, and semi transparent with the consistency being a bit more liquid than a gel. This is why pumping it out is easy.
Initially when I got the product I had to shake it quite a bit to get the product out. The pump is a bit stiff and the amount of product that comes out with one pump is not a lot. I usually take about 3 pumps in my palm, add some water, lightly lather it and then gently apply it on my face. The packaging is simple, classy and easy to use. Once the product gets over I will probably use this bottle to carry body wash when I am travelling. The bottle is plastic but it seems pretty sturdy and so far it is in good shape and reusable.
The Just Herbs Silksplash Rehydrant facewash is a very mild facewash and I have been using this for about 3 months now. Priced at 325INR for 100ml, I find that it has lasted for 3 months now with continuous usage twice a day. It does not strip the face and make it feel dry. My skin definitely feels hydrated after washing with this.
The neem and bitter orange don't seem to have made too much of a difference to my skin in terms of reducing marks or the likes. Neither has it prevented pimples. It might work better on someone who doesn't have adult acne like me.
Overall a good facewash that makes you feel clean and refreshed. Definitely priced higher than regular facewashes, but I guess quality comes at a price. I have used facewashes more expensive so I find this to be pretty reasonable. Judging by the amount that has been used up I guess you can come to the conclusion that I have enjoyed using this facewash.
What about you? What's your current favourite facewash?
