Of Yellow Skirts, Blue Skies, and Brunches
Summer is here and so are the summer rains. Bangalore is cooling down and I am simply loving it. Now that we have pretty much settled down in the new house I have started catching up with some old posts that I seem to have missed to get up.
So this was a look that I did for a brunch some time ago. In fact I actually wore this outfit even before I did my colour blocking for summer post. Surely you remember this Avirate skirt from there?
I decided to go for a very sophisticated clean look and the idea of pairing this shirt with this skirt came when I was browsing Pinterest (I really should do that more often). The shirt is from Faballey and though it is a full arm one, the material is really light so I didn't feel too hot. It is also a bit big sand airy. I chose to tuck the shirt in and add a tan colour belt. The belt is from Wills Lifestyle and I love that it has a braided type of look.
The accessories were kept minimal with a simple gold chain that hit right at the point where the neckline of the shirt dipped, and gold studs. I skipped wearing any bracelet and wore just a white strap watch that I had gotten from Singapore.
I don't have tan heels, so I chose brown ones and beige bag.
Now coming to the makeup. It turned out SO much better than I expected!! I was wanted a very minimal bronze glowy type of look and I. love how this turned out.
My foundation and compact is standard- MAC Studiofix fluid and MAC Studiofinish concealer. I set that entire foundation with the Colorbar compact. For that bronze look, I used the Lakme blush in Honey Bunch.
I kept the eyes as simple as possible with just and orange shade all over the lid and a rust shade in the crease. Blending it out with my bronzer tied the whole look together. I decided to skip eyeliner and just go for mascara. The mascara that I chose that day was the Lakme Absolute Flutter Secrets Mascara. I used a pale matte eyeshadow as highlighter under the brow bone.
All the eyeshadows are from the Coastal Scents 78 eyeshadow palette.
For the lips I chose my favourite Maybelline ColourShow Lipstick in Choco latte.
I really love how this turned out and I am wondering if I should do like a video tutorial on it. Very undecided on that. Let me know in the comments section below what you think.
