REVIEW: Aroma Essentials Makeup Remover

So my sister has officially moved to the US to do her Masters. You know what that means right?? Makeup haul from US!!! Woohooo.. Okay well it is a bit early to rejoice I guess because she isn't coming till the wedding, so any hauls that happen will happen only that time.

Anyway as a beauty blogger, the one product that I work my way through every month is makeup remover. I don't generally experiment with makeup remover because I know what works best for me, especially for removing eye makeup. For the face I use oils and wet wipes, thats my favourite combination. However I was sent the makeup remover from Aroma Essentials and so I decided to give it a shot.

About Aroma Essentials Makeup Remover
Priced at 250INR for 50ml.
The first thing that I want to bring to your notice is that it is a tub form. For those of you who are not fond of putting your fingers into a tub of product, this may not be to your liking. I usually wash my hands, take some product and do not re-dip in for more product. The product is an off white slightly waxy substance that smells of cologne. Yup the scent is pretty strong and takes some time to get used it. This product needs to be stored in the fridge and I think that is the best option as it feels super cooling when you take it from the fridge. Also when I left it out for a few days, I did notice the start of what could possibly be fungal growth in the inner rim of the lid. I cleaned out and then put it back in the fridge.

How I use this product.
Like I mentioned, I take a good dollop of this with my fingers, rub it between the fingers to warm up the product and then massage it across my face. I use this only for removing the face makeup and not for the eyes. I feel like an water-oil combination works better for removing eye makeup rather than this. It does not sting but it really not super effective when it comes to removing mascara. It can remove eyeliner but you need to be kind of gentle with the eye area. Once I have massaged this into my skin, I use a wet wipe to wipe away the product and I can literally see all of the foundation and lipstick come off on the wet wipe. A facewash is definitely recommended to remove all traces of the makeup remover. I like using the tomato facewash from Aroma Essentials

Summary
The product does what it should, it removes makeup and quite effectively. Yes the smell is a bit strong, but as you massage the product in, the smell reduces and there is no trace of it at all once you wipe it off. Once you get used to that, I think it is great to switch to a natural makeup remover. Sometimes I like using this just to get the dirt off my face even if I have no makeup.
