Going back to Indian traditional medicine
Ayurveda is a traditional form of medicine in India and in the past few years it has come back with such a bang. Natural skincare is all the rage right now and Kama Ayurveda, a brand that has been around since the early 2000s, offers a wide range of products based on ayurvedic traditions and preparations.
About Kama Ayurveda
Started in 2002, Kama Ayurveda focuses on providing products that are pure and free of parabens, SLS and other chemicals that generally cause skin related issues. A completely natural skincare brand, Kama Ayurveda provides a completely holistic approach towards skincare and haircare for both men and women.
Some of their most raved about products include the Kumkumadi range and their Pure Rose water.
To make it easy they have arranged their products according to type and there are also some lovely gift sets available.
I was offered a consultation at the Kama Ayurveda store in VR mall. There is only one other outlet in Bangalore which is at 1 MG mall, and the ayurvedic doctor visits there three times a week. While Kama Ayurveda may not be a brand that requires introduction to most people, I think it is important to create awarenes about ayurveda and natural medicine. Based on the principles, that the mind and body are very strongly connected, ayurvedic products are most effective with the right diet, exercise and of course the right frame of mind.
I met with the doctor who talked to me about my lifestyle, any skin or hair related problems that I may be currently facing. He then went on to prescribe a few products for me and of course a few small changes that I should incorporate in my diet and some specific asanas that I should be doing. I loved the simplicity of his prescription and that these are changes that I could easily incorporate in my life. But more importantly he didn't try to push into trying multiple new products. This is the beauty of Ayurvedic medicine.

The products that were prescribed for me are
1. Kumkumadi Brightening Ayurvedic Scrub

2. Bringadi Intensive Hair treatment oil

I will definitely be trying these products and will have reviews up once I have used them. I really like the packaging of these products. They look so rich and luxurious.
