Coloured Eyeliner for Summer feat Revlon PhotoReady Kajal

It has been so long since I posted a makeup look here. Not that I don't wear makeup. I mean if you follow me on Instagram then you would know that I am always attending weddings and other functions so I do wear a lot of makeup. It is just that somehow when it comes to clicking pictures I don't always get the time to do that because I actually do my makeup really slowly. I find it very therapeutic and I try to get perfection especially with my eye liner every time.

Now usually when summer comes, I pull out all of my coloured kajals and eyeliners and I wanted to the same this summer. However, the last time I did a declutter, I kind of got rid of a LOT of the coloured ones that I owned because they were too old. Also I owned something like 10 coloured eyeliners and kajals so the declutter was necessary. Somehow this one from Revlon made the cut despite being slightly old. (In fact I think that this is no longer manufactured). This is one of the 3 coloured eyeliners that I owned up until 3 weeks ago (which translates to I bought new ones), and so I finally pulled it out and decided to use it before I get rid of it in the next declutter. If you are wondering whether it is safe to use, well I sharpen it after every use to that there is no bacteria that clings on to it and sanitize it with rubbing alcohol.

About Revlon PhotoReady Kajal

When Revlon launched the PhotoReady Kajal, it was a talked about product because it was the only brand in India, at that point, which had brought out a n*de eyeliner. Yes, this is a dual ended kajal with one coloured side and the other one, a flesh coloured kajal. I went for the shade Emerald Empire which has a emerald green liner (actually looks a bit more teal than emerald green as you can see in the pictures) and the flesh coloured one. The idea of using a flesh coloured liner to make your eyes bigger was all the rage at that point.

Priced at 395INR (this was the price when it was launched), the product is a simple pencil form which needs to be sharpened. The emerald green side is pretty pigmented and creamy and glides on with no tugging. It is waterproof and requires a fair amount of makeup remover it remove it completely. The product stays on for a good 6-8 hours with fading on the inner corners. Once it sets, it doesn't smudge as well. It is a beautiful colour and perfect for both daytime wear or evening wear.

I have used the flesh coloured side only once it works well on the waterline as well as to highlight the browbone. I don't have any pictures of it this time, but I will definitely use it, click pictures and update it here to show you how it can be used.

Makeup Details

So here are the products I used for the rest of the makeup. I wanted to keep the eyes as the central focus and so I kept the rest of the makeup fairly neutral.

1) Coloressence HD foundation in the shade HDF 2 + MAC StudioFix Fluid in NC 44
2) MAC StudioFinish concealer in NW 35
3) Revlon Compact in Deep Medium.
4) Tarte Cosmetics Blush in Natural Beauty
5) Benefit SunBeam highlighter
6) Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara
7) Lakme Absolute Kohl Ultimate
8) MakeUp Forever Eyeshadow Palette
9) Maybelline Colorshow lipstick in Choco latte
10) Revlon Photoready Kajal in Emerald Empire
11) Maybelline Brow Cream pencil (Not shown in the picture)

After lining the lid with the Revlon kajal, I lined my waterline with the Lakme Kohl and set it with the green eyeshadow from the Makeup Forever Eyeshadow palette. I also tightlined with the Lakme kohl and finished it with mascara.

So that's my summer eyeliner look #1. I am hoping to have a few more up before summer ends. I apologise for reviewing this kajal after it left the market, but I will lookout for dupes and let you know when I come across one. Make sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook, so you don't miss out on my makeup looks or latest updates.

What do you guys think about this makeup look?
